Borderlands are where the fun is.<\/h3>\n

It’s where the curious conduct their explorations.
\nAdventure can be found along the edges, as can real danger and insanity.<\/h3>\n

To some readers, common sense may indicate all of the topics of the Unfolding Series<\/em> could be placed in this category.<\/p>\n

A borderland as defined by the American Heritage Dictionary at thefreedictionary.com <\/a>is as follows::<\/p>\n

1.<\/strong> a. Land located on or near a frontier.<\/span>
\n b.The fringe: a shadowy figure who lived on the borderland of the drug scene.<\/span><\/p>\n

2.<\/strong> An indeterminate area, situation, or condition: the borderland between sanity and insanity.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

For our purposes, we will exclude the majority of the paranormal and limit borderlands to those areas of science and technology that lie beyond generally accepted facts. When paranormal subjects are included here, it will be because they are on the edges of those which are considered common and well documented.<\/div>\n

Borderland topics certainly cover all manner of pseudoscience including:<\/strong><\/p>\n

o\u00a0 UFOs<\/span>
\n o\u00a0 Aliens \u2013 a.k.a. Extraterrestrial Biological Entities<\/span>
\n o\u00a0 Fortean Objects and related phenomenon<\/span>
\n o\u00a0 Purported theories and compounds relating to the physical sciences<\/span>
\n o\u00a0 Free Energy theories<\/span>
\n o\u00a0 Exotic unproven technologies<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Should you decide to venture to the fringe, I consider it a best practice to have a companion or peer group to consult with \u2013 someone who can say, \u201cDon\u2019t do that!\u201d<\/p>\n

For example,<\/strong> earlier this week my wife ConiAnn and I were invited to attend a group made up primarily of dowsers. During dinner, one of the guests mentioned a well-know speaker. I had listened to the speaker years ago. His predictions of catastrophic events (that didn’t happen) and his extreme alarms of alien infiltration into the Earth\u2019s leading elite were something I didn\u2019t want to be involved in.<\/p>\n

I suggested to our dinner companion that with the speaker\u2019s past record, his current message of positive thought should be approached with caution. I was pronounced “close minded” \u2013 in this case it\u2019s a judgment I will not dispute. For me to open that door it will take additional time and evidence.<\/p>\n

Generally<\/strong>, when someone talks about ideas, capabilities, or actions which would uproot you from your current existence, you are in the borderlands, the fringes of your ability to tell what\u2019s real from what\u2019s imagined \u2013 from what allows you to live your life and what forces you to change it.<\/p>\n

At times it is not possible have companions along parts of your journey and it is necessary to go alone into undiscovered territories. In such situations a certain combination of boldness and abundant caution is highly recommended.<\/p>\n

If the potential change creates a fear that is too great to bear, it\u2019s usually prudent to turn around and return to safety.<\/p>\n
