“It’s your<\/strong> fault!”\u00a0our older son glared at me while his brother nodded agreement.<\/p>\n

“I don’t understand.”<\/p>\n

“They aren’t fighting. It’s your fault!”<\/p>\n

“I didn’t do anything,” I said still trying to figure out what they were upset about. I had received free tickets to see our local hockey team from one of the senior partners of the firm that\u00a0employed\u00a0me. He knew how hard I’d been working and insisted I take a break.<\/p>\n

“You’re here!<\/p>\n

“No,” I protested. “I didn’t try to control anything.”<\/p>\n

“That doesn’t matter,” accused our younger son. “Just being here, you’ve ruined the game.”<\/p>\n

Whether I was responsible or not, there had only been two brief skirmishes. It was the first time the boys had been to a hockey game and had been looking forward to the fights they thought were part of it. There were none and in their eyes, I was to blame.<\/p>\n

This is another example of what it’s like to live in a family of psychics<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u2013\u2013\u2013\u2013<\/p>\n

I cannot claim that they were right. That night was about three years after my awakening<\/a> which still resonated in and around me.\u00a0As my older son now recalls, “Every time a fight was about to break out, you’d get all sparkly and they’d stop.”<\/p>\n

There are stories from parts of the world that tell of Saints whose arrival in an area would be followed by a cessation of conflict.<\/p>\n

Do not confuse me with one of them.<\/p>\n

\u2013\u2013\u2013\u2013<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>What came to be known as The Maharishi Effect<\/a> was introduced by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in the 1960\u2019s. He made a proposition that there could be a social benefit when a “significant proportion of the population”\u00a0meditated.\u00a0It was decided that if one percent of the world\u2019s population did this, then we would see an increase in “life supporting trends.”<\/p>\n

The number of people claimed required to affect change has varied at different times. Clearly, if people choose to think more about sustaining life than taking life \u2013 we will manifest that change.<\/p>\n

So, like a giant Laffer curve<\/a> with billions of participants, we see on one end of the scale total war and anarchy and at the other too much order and acquiescence. Along the x-axis is a scale of peace and a chance for universal prosperity.<\/p>\n

Can one person make a difference? You bet!<\/p>\n
