\u2014\u2014\u2014<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve always thought the home I bought six years ago was meant to be mine. It has a greenhouse, just like I\u2019d dreamed of \u2014 no need to purchase the portable type I\u2019d had in mind; it has a scenic backyard with a small lake and bird houses. But my dream home also possesses something I hadn\u2019t counted on \u2014 a portal to the spirit world.<\/div>\n

\u2014\u2014\u2014<\/p>\n

The first indication that my home had a resident ghost<\/strong> was the strong smell of beer in my walk-in closet. The smell was so strong, I spent time looking for a spilled bottle. Although the smell would come and go, it was always undeniably present. The temperature in the bedroom was colder than in any other part of the house.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>As time went on, the ghostly activity increased. Lights would turn off, the television\u2019s sound would turn off, the clock radio on my bedroom nightstand buzzed with static bursts. But the strangest phenomenon was the closed caption on the television set. Words started popping up on the screen. Something or someone was trying to get my attention.<\/p>\n

Your immediate thought must be that there was some electrical malfunction in the home. Yet my skeptically-minded-engineer husband was baffled. He threw out the radio after it became a nightly annoyance. Even so, the new radio misbehaved as well.<\/p>\n

Events climaxed one evening<\/strong>\u00a0two years ago this coming December. As I napped on the couch, I awoke suddenly with my heart pounding. I looked to my left and saw a kneeling man lifting me up off the couch. I also saw, floating above my physical body, my energy body being lifted away. In the next instant, I fell back on the couch cushion. As I hit the cushion I said to myself, \u201cI know this is real because I just felt my body fall back on the couch.\u201d I sat up but kept dozing off. Each time I dozed, I felt the spirit return. As soon as I snapped awake, it retreated. I dozed off again; again it returned. I finally stood up and said, \u201cOK. OK. I\u2019ll go to bed.”<\/p>\n

The next day I sat on my bed with a voice recorder to try to record an EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena). I asked the ghost if he wanted to go to the light. When I played the recording back, a voice very clearly said \u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Over the course of a few weeks<\/strong>, I learned the spirit\u2019s name and that he needed to make amends with those still living. I had no idea how I was going to help him.<\/p>\n

On a whim, I decided to ask a neighbor if she would like to hear my EVP. When I arrived at her home, I found she\u2019d changed her mind explaining that she was frightened. So instead, I told her the ghost\u2019s name and what it had said. Her face blanched. It was her stepfather who\u2019d died five months earlier.<\/p>\n

The message I passed on to her family helped to heal some wounds.\u00a0I asked the spirit to leave my home since I\u2019d accomplished what he wanted.\u00a0And he did, for a while.<\/p>\n

\u2014\u2014\u2014<\/p>\n

When he returned three days later<\/strong>, he did so with predatory\u00a0intent.<\/div>\n

He became combative and\u00a0passed through my body. The closed captioning on the television became wildly erratic. At one point I imagined the words GO AWAY! written in red letters. The closed caption turned red. Then I imagined the same words in green. The closed caption turned green. My perennially-skeptical husband couldn\u2019t figure out what the hell was wrong with the television.<\/p>\n

As the days wore on, I became hesitant to enter my own home. I contacted mediums to find someone to cleanse the home, but nothing worked. Then one afternoon I threatened the entity. At that moment a ball of energy manifested and exploded in the center of the room. The hair on my arms rose as every piece of electrical equipment in the house turned off and on. The entity battled with me all night long.\u00a0Shortly after, the spirit left for good.<\/p>\n

We all have the ability to rid ourselves of unwanted spirits.\u00a0 We need to believe in our own ability, have confidence, but most importantly lose the fear.\u00a0 If we don\u2019t fully intend to be rid of the spirit, it knows and won\u2019t go.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A few months later<\/strong> I was in a lucid sleep state and, on a whim, called the spirit back. He came and stood by the side of my bed. I threw up a shield around my body. He was angry and with good reason. Foolishness on my part.<\/p>\n

The only thing I can say in my defense is that, at the time when I saw the spirit manifest itself in my family room, I was looking at Eternity. \u00a0The experience was profound; \u00a0unbelievable, believable, fantastic, awe inspiring. I don\u2019t want to disconnect from it.<\/p>\n
